“already broken” to Receive Official In-Person Premiere in Los Angeles
For the first time, “already broken” is coming to the big screen.
Following its digital release in July, Marie Alexander’s original narrative dance film will receive its official in-person premiere in Los Angeles as part of a special screening celebrating music videos and films created in LA.
Written by Sarah Marie Picard and Noah Alexander, “already broken” began as a song about the moment clarity finally outweighs hope—the realization that sometimes the thing we’ve been fighting to save has already broken.
That idea eventually grew beyond the music.
Directed and performed by Sarah, edited by Noah, and choreographed by Holden Maples, the accompanying film uses movement as a narrative language. Six dancers move through Sarah’s world as the story shifts from isolation and resistance toward release, creating a physical expression of the emotional patterns at the center of the song.
The Los Angeles screening marks the first time the film will be experienced collectively on the big screen and will be followed by a live Q&A with Sarah and Noah about the music, filmmaking, movement, and creative process behind the project.
After months of building this world with an extraordinary group of artists, experiencing it together in a room feels like an incredibly special next chapter.
